CHICA DEL DIA (nb) – 12.10pm LINGFIELD
0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 14/1 WITH SKYBET WHO ARE PAYING 4 PLACES
Hi guys, a belated Happy New Year to everyone on the mailing list with this being the first write-up on the website since Shallow Hal won for us at 16/1 on December 21st. I hope you will be seeing much more from me on here in the next couple of months as I eagerly anticipate the fast approaching Cheltenham Festival which is always my main target for the year. As usual, oodles of work has been going on in the background since the jumps season proper started in October with this being the 10th season in a row I’ll have published tips for the National Hunt showcase event of the year.
The lightly-raced 4 year old filly CHICA DEL DIA put in a career best performance last time (RPR of 47) on just her sixth start with a running on 2.75 lengths 5th of 9 off 1lb higher over 7f in this Class and Grade at Chelmsford 45 days ago having been left too much to do. She is now tried in first-time cheek-pieces which could spark further improvement, she shaped like she would be suited by this step back up to a mile, she will be fully fit on her fifth start since last August, and the Simon Dow yard is banging in the winners (Last 14 days: 4-10, 40%). Her draw in stall 8 is also fine as she is likely to be dropped in with her hold up style.
She will need to take a step forward again and run to an RPR (Racing Post Rating) of around 55 to win this but she may now be going the right way and with a mile probably her ideal trip that is entirely possible running off joint bottom weight here under the excellent Callum Shepherd.
I’ve made her my Next Best (nb) and may well have Napped her only I’ve selected her based on the strength of just one good run as she hadn’t shown much prior to that most recent start. She now needs to back that up. However, she is still unexposed and the application of headgear coupled with the fact she is the yards only runner today would imply connections may well be expecting further improvement.
Hopefully she will prove a good each way bet and, although I am not affiliated with any bookmakers but rather just like to point out common sense offers to you guys as they will (if you take advantage of them) make a huge difference to your long-term P&L, SKBET is the way to go as they are paying out on the first 4 horses home in this 12-runner race while also offering an industry best equalling price of 14/1. Good luck!
