THROCKLEY – 2.25pm UTTOXETER

0.5 PT WIN BET ADVISED AT THE 25/1 AVAILABLE WITH BET365

In this 2.25 race at Toxxy (aka Uttoxeter, you’ll get used to it) I think Kalinda’s price is very short back down to 16f from 20f – she’s probably as well handicapped as anything, but I really don’t think she would have won last time if she was running over half a mile shorter. Treasured Company was/is a very limited horse on the flat (40 rated), and the opening mark of 94 looks stiff to me as I just don’t trust Cartmel form.

There are a several horses you could do at bigger prices in here.

Telekinetic ran in a better race than this last time, and is effectively 7lb lower, so she definitely has an EW chance at 14s, but she looks like one of these horses that has been close to placing without really looking like she’s going to win, but I certainly wouldn’t put anyone off her.

Tingo In The Tale is another EW option, but the 16s is very much a standout, and I wouldn’t want to play EW at the 10/1 general. He’s won twice over CD off 74 & 82, and effectively runs off just 70 with the claim. He could actually drift out to a bigger price come race time because I know people like to write off these old boys.

Throckley is more a boom or bust type, as he has bits and pieces of form where he could win quite easily, but he’s been travelling well and weakening tamely. So why do him now? Well, he’s had a wind op, which if allowing him to see his race out then he has to go very close. I also like that Charlie Price takes over, as he’s won on the horse before, and always seemed to get a good tune out of him. So at a monster 25/1 top price, I would prefer to back him and try put a lower lay in running, but that all depends on how greedy you want to get.
