The 7 year old gelding Kapsize was impressive after being dropped to to 16f at Hexham. This saw him sent off 7/4 in what looked a good race next time, but he could only manage 4th as he just doesn’t like the fixed fences, and then it was too sharp for him at a flatter track.
I think 20f looks the perfect trip for him if you watched his 24f runs (when tanking half a mile from home), and I think he still has more to offer from only 5lb higher than the win.
The bare form of Flying Garry wouldn’t be good enough to win this race, but he’s thrown away his chance with his hanging, yet has shown he can jump and travel. This is what makes the first time blinkers a major selling point for me, as if they get the horse to focus his effort then he shouldn’t be far away, and the trip looks perfect.
