0.5 PT WIN BET ADVISED AT THE 25/1 AVAILABLE WITH BET365
I’ve decided to throw two darts at the Stratford 7.00
Shortcross Storm sets the standard, but he is very short at 7/4, so hopefully the 6lb rise makes him vulnerable. Saintbury Lady also looks short to me given she is having her first run for 10 months, and we’ve no idea how she will jump fences. Evas Diva has had enough chance off lower marks over hurdles without winning, so will really need to improve for fences to win. I think Authorizo can win off this mark, but I’m not sure he stays this far, if he does, and he brushes up his jumping, then I think he’s a fair price, but, I’d rather go outside the box..
Admiral’s Sunset is an 8 year old mare, whom only managed 7th of 9 on her comeback five weeks ago, but there is good reason to expect her to come on a lot for the run. Solstalla, who is trained/owned by the same people, ran a week later than her, and looked rusty herself, but really came on for that run winning twice since with some real authority.
There is a high chance that both horses would have been back in training at the same time, so the selection should have been shorter on fitness, and the fact that Solstalla won off a career high mark at the age of 9, gives me hope that the yard have improved, but as both horses have had a wind op, it could be that too.
Full Spes is a 5 year old gelding, and we saw a lot more from him on his latest run, his third in handicap company. Although he ultimately finished 7th of 8, there was just a lot more to like with how he travelled and jumped from the front before weakening late on (3.7 IR). The 21.5f trip seemed to stretch him, so the 19f will be welcome here, and he now takes on fences for the first time.
You never really know how a horse will take to chasing, but from what I saw over hurdles, I like to think he’ll be better for it. The stable are in cracking form at the moment, and are really unlucky not to be 4 from 7 these past 14 days. All in all, the selection could easily bomb out, and might be found lacking in experience, but he’s a big enough price for me to chance.
You could do both EW, but I would rather just go win and put some low lays for in running as both are typically good movers (providing Full Spes can jump).
