FOURINA – 2.40 THURLES

EACH WAY ADVISED AT 11/1 WITH LADBROKES & CORAL PAYING 5 PLACES

Firstly, a few thoughts on the 1.40 race. I am with the Favourite FAKIERA but no tip as he is 4/5 in a 16-runner maiden so there could be something lurking to come and beat him. However, this Gordon Elliott trained 5 year old gelding easily has the best form on offer and should take all the beating if there are odds-on backers amongst you.

In the 2.40 I am taking a chance on Fourina, who pulled up last time out when a well-fancied 9/2 second Favourite in a 16-runner race at Clonmel, in the hope that the application of first-time blinkers will help keep her mind on the job and could spark some improvement. She should also be suited by the drop back in trip to 2m6.5f on better ground, the Mark Fahey yard have made a decent start to the season, and Ricky Doyle takes a useful 3lb off her back. Sent off at odds of 9/2, 13/2, 13/2, & 7/1 in her last 4 races she looks a little over-priced at 11/1 today. This is a competitive 15-runner handicap but she has the ability to go close if returning to form.

That’s all from me today guys. As you know by now, I’m not an expert on Irish racing but I’ve studied the card long and hard so hopefully we’ll end the day in profit. Today’s racing will give us a welcome break from all the doom and gloom so my advice is to keep your stakes small just to give you a fun interest, sit back, and enjoy the afternoon’s racing. Good luck!
