JETZ – 2.10 THURLES
WIN BET ADVISED AT 11/4 AVAILABLE WITH ALL THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…
The market looks to have got this one right as I’ll be surprised if the winner comes from outside the top two in the betting. The current Favourite is Mary Frances (9/4) who is an improving 8 year old mare that won impressively by 4.75 lengths over 3 miles on Heavy at Punchestown last month. Her trainer is concerned about the suitability of the drying ground at the track for her while I’m not sure the drop back to 2m6.5f will help her either. So, given the choice of her potential over the proven class of Jetz I have opted for him as the selection. He has been contested over fences since November 2018 against the likes of La Bague Au Roi & Delta Work until getting his eye back in over hurdles 20 days ago at Leopardstown when finishing a very respectable 2nd of 7 in a competitive handicap. He is a Grade 3 chase winner and only went down by a head in a Grade 1 novice hurdle 2 years ago. That looks like very decent form in the context of this race. He comes here fully fit on his sixth start of the season, the Jessica Harrington yard are in form, and the excellent Robbie Power (who has won on him twice and knows him very well) takes back over in the saddle. He has to give 7lb to the Favourite but with conditions suiting him better he should have the class and experience to come out on top today.
