FLEETING PRINCE – 4.10pm GOODWOOD

0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 33/1 AVAILABLE WITH ALL THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…

I give the top-weight and 33/1 shot Fleeting Prince and each way chance in this 8-runner race. This lightly-raced 3 year old colt has been highly tried from Listed to Group 2 level and drops in to a handicap for the first time today. He cost £70,000 as a yearling, has two runs under his belt this season so should be nearing peak fitness, he is suited by today’s official Good to Firm, he is bred to be suited by today’s first try at 7f, the Charlie Hills yard are in form (Last 14 days: 5-25, 20%), as is excellent first-time booking Jim Crowley (Last 14 days: 8-46, 17%). His opening handicap mark of 100 appears high on what he has achieved so far so he’ll have to improve to go close but he has been keeping better company than this and could take a step forward now stepped up in trip. His trainer said this morning, “His handicap debut and stepping up to 7f for the first time. He had to carry top weight but I don’t think he is without a chance.” I agree because we haven’t seen the best of him yet.

He’s unfancied in the market and I could be wrong but at the 33/1 price it won’t cost us much to find out. Let’s hope there are no non-runners and he gives us a run for our money. Good luck!
