SIMPLY GORGEOUS – 6.00pm KEMPTON
0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 50/1 WITH SKYBET WHO ARE PAYING 4 PLACES
Hi guys, as usual, apologies for the time this is going out (2.40am) but I’m an avid market watcher during the early hours of the morning so can tell you this horse is going to trade/jump off a fare bit shorter than her currently widely available 50/1. I know this because she is being nibbled at on Betfair, the Racing Post says “this very lightly raced 3yo showed promise previously and is not ruled out”, while she has been Napped by the Daily Telegraph.
The horse is Simply Gorgeous, a very lightly-raced 3 year old filly, who makes her handicap/Polytrack debut for her new stable off a mark of 66 coming off a 5-month break and, to be honest, it’s difficult to know what to expect from her but at the odds she simply has to be backed with her having shown ability on her first two starts in August & September last year (so maybe fresh is the best time to catch her) before being well-beaten in her last two starts in October. Plus, the race looks weak.
On the first of those October runs she appeared to have an excuse running on her own with no cover for the whole race over 7f at Redcar from a poor draw in stall 11 with the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd coming from stalls 3, 2, & 1 all running on the other side of the track. On her last start at Newcastle she finished 11 lengths last of 14 with the jockey saying she, “hung left-handed” and she was also a bit short of room over 1f out but overall she appeared to have little in the way of excuses and this was just a very poor run. So, she will need to have been freshened up by the break and the change of scenery but that is entirely possible and she is also starting her handicap career at a very low level.
Earlier in the year, she showed plenty of ability on her debut when finishing 3.25 lengths 3rd of 9 on Good to Firm over 6f at Redcar at the end of August receiving 3lb from a race-fit 3/10 Favourite rated 79 before going on to finish 4.75 lengths 5th of 8 in a Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over 7f at Newcastle. She ran to Racing Post ratings of 60 & 65 respectively and appeared to be progressing before it all went a bit pear-shaped.
Her trainer, William Stone, is very capable and under-rated in my opinion (Flat last 5 seasons: 45-372, 12% SR) while Tyler Heard is a good first-time booking who takes a very useful 5lb off. Originally purchased for 45,000 GNS as a yearling in October 2020 she was picked up for just 10,000 in December 2021.
At that 50/1 with Skybet, the only firm I am aware off paying 4 places on the race, she rates a 0.5 point each way bet as it looks a good offer with only 9 runners in the race and will hopefully go well. Good luck!

P.S. Just a reminder that while I suggest bookies to bet with because they have the best price available or are offering to pay extra places on a race these are purely for your benefit and I receive absolutely nothing from them. I’M NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY BOOKMAKERS!
