KOLOSSUS – 2.20pm AYR
0.5 PT EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 7/1 AVAILABLE WITH THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…
The 4 year old gelding Kolossus is a C&D winner who has steadily dropped 16lb down the weights since receiving his initial handicap mark back in September 2018. He was only beaten by a well-handicapped subsequent winner over C&D off a 6lb higher mark in a higher Class around this time last year and he has another piece of form where he finished mid-field in a Class 2 handicap, off 16lb higher than today, which leaves him looking very well handicapped here running off a career low mark of 63 dropped in to a Class 6 handicap for the first time. He has a pipe-opener under his belt 3 weeks ago over this trip at Thirsk where he ran well for a long way before understandably tiring late on as he was coming back from a 286 day break. He was dropped 3lb for that run and if it has put him spot on for this he should go close with trip and ground to suit and the Michael Dods yard amongst the winner recently (Last 14 days: 5-35, 14%). He looks a good each way bet at a generous looking 7/1 in this 10-runner affair. Good luck!
