DUC DE GRISSAY (nb) – 2.40 KELSO
WIN BET ADVISED AT EVENS WITH ALL THE BOOKMAKERS BELOW…
You’ll probably know I’m not one for tipping Favourites but I don’t mind doing this if I think there is a bit of value in the price or the Favourite has an excellent chance of winning. Duc De Grissay looks a little over-priced at Evens and should take all the beating today as he showed improved form for the switch to fences when finishing 3rd in a decent novice event at Catterick on today’s Heavy going 20 days ago. It was a good run considering the trip was an unsuitably short 2m3f with further improvement likely now stepped up to 2m7.5f making his handicap debut off a workable looking mark of 115. He comes out best on ratings of the three runners so looks well treated in receipt of weight from both. Of his rivals, Manetti looks the main danger but by his trainer’s own admission he may find this coming too soon having had a fairly hard race on Heavy going when winning at Carlisle just 11 days ago. He also has about 8lb to find with the selection on their latest outings. The other runner, Kalaharry, is a 4-time hurdle winner but looks high enough in the weights making his chase debut and he too has plenty to find with Duc De Grissay on ratings. So, not the usual price I tip at but hopefully I’ve put you on to what should be a straight forward winner, barring mishaps.
