GENUFLEX – 1.00pm LUDLOW

0.5 POINT WIN BET ADVISED AT A GENERALLY AVAILABLE 20/1

Hi guys, I think the 3 year old gelding Genuflex looks worth an interest at 20/1 making his hurdling debut in this 7-runner race.

He was decent on the Flat running to a best Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 79 which compares well in this field and even with the odds-on Favourite, Scots Gold (4/5), who only boasted a Flat best RPR of 70.

The selection was a decent 3rd of 8 over 1m2f (a trip he stayed on the Flat which bodes well for this 2 miles over hurdles) on his final start for Richard Hannon then was promptly sold for 20,000 GNS and gelded. He now makes his debut for the in form Milton Harris (Last 14 days: 4-14, 29%) and could go well, if ready to fire after a 93-day break, in a first-time tongue-tie with decent apprentice Kevin Jones taking a useful 3lb off his back.

This is a competitive little Maiden Hurdle against some race-fit rivals with more experience so I am by no means saying he is nailed on to win but just that he is over-priced and the level of his Flat form makes him worth a bet at his current 20/1 price. Unfortunately, there are only 7-runners taking part so each way only pays the first 2 places unless you have an account with Boylesports or SportNation who are a couple of firms offering to pay the first 3 home in the race. So, I am advising a half point win bet (meaning if you usually bet a tenner only place £5 on this).

Let’s hope he gives us a good run for our money. Good luck!
