MACS BLESSINGS – 1.10pm AYR
1 PT WIN BET ADVISED AT A BEST PRICE 15/8 AVAILABLE WITH BET365
Macs Blessings looks the one to be on at 15/8 with BET365 after winning over C&D a fortnight ago off a 4lb lower mark. The going was officially Good to Firm that day but jockey Harrison Shaw, who keeps the ride here, said after the race the rain had got in to the ground which was ideal for the selection. He was unlucky to be short-headed over C&D off today’s mark in a higher grade (0-65 as opposed to today’s 0-55) on Heavy last August in a race where he beat the re-opposing Jessie Allan (11/2), on these terms, by 6.25 lengths. Jessie Allan has been tipped by a few for this because she is 6lb better off with Macs Blessings for a 2.5 length defeat in that race here two weeks ago but she had the rail to help her that day, while the selection won with a bit in hand, so I don’t see the 9 year old reversing the placings. Sienna Dream (4/1) produced a career best to win here in these conditions over 7f last October but up 7lb dropping back in trip and returning from a 279 day break, when she has needed her first run for the past 3 years, she’ll be doing well to beat the race-fit selection in receipt of only 2lb. It has been 40 runs and almost 3 years since the inconsistent front-runner Dodgy Bob (3/1) won off a mark this high so he looks more likely to set a strong pace before being tagged late on by the selection. The 8 year old Star Cracker (13/2) is well past his best, looks high enough in the weights, and will probably need the run coming back from a 4 month break while Milabella (50/1) looks out-classed on what she has achieved to date.
To conclude, the 4 year old Macs Blessings looks a good bet against his older more exposed rivals. Good luck!
