The offer from Betfair Sportsbook & Paddy Power is great as they are the only bookmaker (to my knowledge) paying the first 5 horses home in this competitive looking handicap. They are offering 14/1 but the selection, for those of you who don’t have an account with these bookmakers, is available with Coral and Sporting Bet at 18/1 but they are only paying the first 3 places.
Staxton is a little risky having finished last season in poor form but he is down in the handicap to his lowest weight in 33 months and this might just be the time to catch him as he has run well every time he is fresh (coming back from a break) and he won on his debut. He has also won twice off higher marks than today (93) with his best result coming off 6lb higher here on the July course over this trip in this Class and Grade. He has won on today’s Good to Firm, is well drawn in stall 5, and most of Tim Easterby’s horses have ran well this week having bagged a couple of winners and a couple of close up 3rd place finishers.
Please don’t go overboard with your stakes but I think he is well worth an each way interest at the price with those two bookies paying 5 places. Good luck!
