ROSEMAN – 1.50pm ASCOT

EACH WAY BET ADVISED 14/1 WITH ALL THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS PAYING 4 PLACES…

This is a wide open 15-runner Group 1 race with little recent form to go on so, again, please don’t go overboard with your stakes. There will be much better opportunities to come later in the week.

Of the two at the head of the market, I think the John Gosden trained 4 year old filly Terebellum has a real Favourite’s chance but I’m not here to tip short priced Favourites so I’ve gone for one at bigger prices. These races at Royal Ascot are a bit like the ones at the Cheltenham Festival in that you could easily tip two or three selections per race as they’re absolutely full of very good horses. I’ll mention a few here that could go well at bigger prices and wouldn’t put you off having small stakes on them but I’m only going to give you one tip per race. Mohaather, tipped by the Racing Post, has been backed off the boards. He was available at 16/1 last night and is now a best price 13/2 so, unfortunately, all value has gone. The yard is in form and the money would suggest a big run is expected. At 33/1, the first-time booking of Oisin Murphy really catches the eye on French raider Plumatic while a first-time tongue-tie could spark improvement and the easy underfoot conditions will suit. He could outrun his odds. I give Fox Chairman (7/1) & Skardu (10/1) a chance but my overall preference is for Roseman. This Roger Varian trained 4 year old colt beat our very good Saturday winner, Century Dream, by 4.5 lengths when last seen in November. That was after a 135 day break so he has proven he can go well fresh, there is surely further improvement to come from him, he has course form, he has won on today’s Good to Soft, and he looks a good bet at 14/1 to finish in the first 4 at a generally available 14/1. Good luck!
