I done this LTO, as he was unlucky not to win on his last CD run (on soft) here off 99, but for getting boxed in. We hadn’t seen him for 471 days, but he ran a cracking third on his comeback run at Southwell back in June. The 4th to 7th have all been winning or going close since, and there was good reason to think he would come on for the run
Last time, however, he was just too far back, and got shuffled back at a pivotal point just as the race quickened up again. He ran OK to finish a 6l 5th behind Pass Rusher (who he meets on 7lb better terms) in what was a very messy race, with the handicapper cutting him some slack dropping him 3lb, so he’s running off a career low of 93.
It’s an extremely competitive race, but he’s got an EW chance if ridden more prominently.
