The 5 year old gelding Salley Gardens showed he had a future in his novice hurdle runs, but didn’t show a whole bunch in his three handicap starts, but he did start a bit high off 105, and a mark of 90 looks very workable on his Warwick 4th, as the 3rd and 5th are both 107+ now.
I think it’s a telling sign that Aidan is booked for this one as opposed to his more obvious stable mate Rock On Tommy, who he rode LTO, and it’s his sole ride on the card too.
Of course the horse could just be useless, but Murphy doesn’t send his horses here for nothing, with 5 winners and 5 second places from 18 runners, boasting a very healthy 28% win rate. So I like to think we will see a much improved performance.
There is another dark horse in here, which I’ll tweet if there’s interest, but this looks the hot one for now.
