Course winner Fortified Bay looks worth an each way interest at 14/1 in this 8-runner affair dropping back in trip to 2m4f.

This 9 year old gelding has been badly out of form in his three starts this season but 4m1f was too far for him last time and this 13 furlong drop back in trip may see him in a totally different light. He should also be approaching peak fitness on his fourth start of the season, he is down in Class, he has been dropped 7lb since November, he is back on his last winning mark, the application of a first-time visor could spark improvement (he won when first-time cheek-pieces were applied in Jan 2020), and the Jennie Candlish yard have hit top gear in the past week with the form of her last 7 runners reading 4121522 (29% Strike Rate).

He could bomb again but there’s plenty above suggesting a much better run may be on the cards so he looks well-worth an interest at 14/1 in my opinion. Good luck!
