FULL CIRCLE – 1.40pm LINGFIELD
0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT A WIDELY AVAILABLE 50/1
The lightly-raced Tony Coyle trained 4 year old gelding Full Circle absolutely jumped off the screen at me at 50/1 after he had caught my eye in a similar National Hunt Flat Race at Newcastle 7 days ago when sent off at only 9/1 fifth Favourite in a 14-runner race.
On that occasion, he was held up in last but travelling well enough throughout before (like most of his rivals) coming under a drive 3 furlongs out. He was still around last at the time, found himself a little short of room having to switch right at the 2 furlong pole, before running on again to finish 5 lengths back in 7th. There were 14-runners, I thought it was a decent race for the grade, and he would have finished a little closer had he not been a little short of room late on. I had studied the form of race in detail and was interested in watching it in particular as I know the trainer Sean Conway well, knew he had a runner in it, and even congratulated him on Twitter after his horse (Creggan White Hare) won the race at 14/1.
After showing ability on his first start where he ran well for a long way before “losing his action” and being pulled-up, I thought this run was full of promise. With it being only his second ever, and having had a 72-day break since the first one, he should strip fitter here. He shaped as though he would come on for it. His Dam (Full Bloom) ran well at the track and was a winner on today’s Polytrack surface while I also like the first-time booking of Jamie Moore.
This race looks weaker than last weeks but he will still need to improve to win it. He certainly has the potential to do that so looked well worth an each way bet for those of you (and your comments on Twitter would suggest there were quite a few) who were lucky enough to get that very generous 50/1. It is an 8-runner race so let’s hope we have no non runners and get a good run for our money. Good luck!
