FANCY MAN – 4.10pm HAYDOCK

0.5 POINTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT THE 18/1 AVAILABLE WITH BOTH Betfair Sportsbook & Betfred

Hi guys, the 3 year old Richard Hannon trained colt Fancy Man hasn’t progressed as connections might have liked in three runs as a 3 year old but there are reasons to think he could go better today so he looks worth an interest at the 18/1 currently on offer with both Betfair Sportsbook & Betfred.

Fancy Man didn’t run badly last time to finish 6 lengths 3rd in a Listed race against his own age group at Newmarket considering he was trying to give 4lb to the likes of John Leeper & Tasman Bay. The only 3-year-old in this field today he receives weight-for-age allowances from his older rivals including 8lb from Favourite, Real World (who may not want Soft with his two recent wins coming on Good to Firm), making him look a more attractive betting proposition. Besides this, the selection encounters the Soft ground he wants for the first time this season having won twice on it here last year where he is an unbeaten 2-2.

The form of his Listed win here last September brings him right in to the reckoning in this. He comfortably beat dual subsequent winner Alenquer that day (now rated 110) by 3.25 lengths over a mile on today’s Soft Going and could get back on track returned here, fully-fit on his fourth start of the season. Today’s 1m2.5f looks ideal for him.

This is a competitive Group 3 race and there are plenty of dangers at the head of the market but he could be better suited by conditions than some of them so looks worth a bet. Each way advised at the price in a 9-runner race. Good luck!
