HYMN AND A PRAYER (NAP) – 4.20pm PLUMPTON
1 PT EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 10/1 AVAILABLE WITH WILLIAM HILL WHO ARE PAYING 4 PLACES
I thought it was a good run from the 8 year old gelding Hymn And A Prayer on his seasonal debut coming back from a 300 day break when finishing a running on 13.5 lengths 4th of 13 in a better, higher Class, race than this 64 days ago. He met a little trouble in running in that on the home turn or he would have finished a bit closer and has been generously dropped 2lb for the run by the handicapper. The winner ran well to finish 3rd in a higher Class off 6lb higher next time out and the 2nd & 3rd placed horses have both won since giving the form a very solid look.
The selection has now steadily dropped 13lb down the weights since receiving his initial handicap mark back in May 2019. He has shown pieces of ability, that he handles the track, and the eye is drawn to the first-time booking of Bryony Frost. He has given me the impression there may be a bigger run in him so let’s hope it is today. At 10/1 with William Hill (and several other bookmakers) paying 4 places he looks well-worth an each way interest in this. Good luck!
