ZAFAR (Nap) – 2.45pm WINCANTON
1 PT EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 9/1 AVAILABLE WITH THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…
I’m keen on the chances of the 6 year old Philip Hobbs trained gelding Zafar in this as he has shaped like he has been crying out for this step up in trip on a few of occasions including last time where he finished a good running on 9.25 lengths 4th of 11 over 2m1.5f on today’s Heavy at Fontwell 3 weeks ago. I thought it was a good run considering he was giving weight away to the 3 that finished in front of him while he also ran on the unfavoured part of the track
He has been dropped 2lb for that and, although up in Class, he has several pieces of form against horses now rated 140 plus which suggest he could be under-rated by his current mark of 115. The excellent Ben Jones also takes a further useful 3lb off in this Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle over 2m4f.
He has ran over 2m3f and it was “inconclusive” whether he stayed the trip but it is my opinion he will not only stay it but it will unlock further improvement on his third start back from a 620 day break.
I’ve Napped him because he looks well-handicapped, is receiving weight from his main rivals in the betting, is carrying a nice low weight, and looked over-priced at 9/1. Good luck!
