MINHAAJ – 2.20pm GOODWOD

0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT THE 6/1 AVAILABLE WITH THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…

Hi guys, I’m sure many of you remember our Nap, Minhaaj, who did us a massive favour by getting up late to win for us at 20/1 over 5f at Sandown last month. Well, she runs at Goodwood for the first time today and I think she looks worth an interest again over this more suitable 6f trip. You may want to read her previous write-up by clicking here as much of it, not included here, still applies.

She has ran since winning for us and, on the face of it, her 9th of 19 at Ascot over today’s trip in the same Class as this 19 days ago doesn’t look great as she had only gone up 2lb for her win. However, she only went down by 2.5 lengths that day from a poor high draw in stall 13 running her race on the wrong part of the track with the principals at the finish concentrated towards the far side and three of the first four home coming from the three lowest draws in 1, 3, and 4 (stall 2 was a non runner). She ran on strongly being nearest at the finish and, running off the same mark of 82 here, with Oisin Murphy an eye-catching first-time booking, on Going which looks ideal, and Goodwood’s straight 6f track in her favour, I can see her going close.

I have of course compared her form against all her opponents and it stacks up well particularly considering she is less exposed than her main rivals as I think there could still be further improvement to come from her. Her trainer thinks so too saying after her win, “We thought off of 80 Minhaaj looked like a filly that might just go on a little bit. She’s not the biggest in the world but she still sort of shows signs of greenness, she’s still quite babyish. She’s very laid back so there’s probably a bit more to come from her now she’s getting the hang of it.”

She looks a decent each way bet at 6/1 in this much easier 9-runner race with conditions in her favour. Good luck!
