SIMPLE RULES – 4.33pm SEDGEFIELD
0.5 POINTS BET ADVISED AT THE 14/1 AVAILABLE WITH BET365
The 5 year old gelding Simple Rules disappointed on his handicap when never really being in it, and if he ran to that level again, clearly he won’t be troubling the judge tomorrow.
However, it was his run over this CD in a maiden hurdle that sticks out as good form, as he ran a really good 5l to Tommy’s Oscar, a horse now rated 139, so he had absolutely no chance giving him 3lb. Behind in third was Ottonian, who went on to win off 102 himself, and it was 10l back to the fourth.
The going was described as heavy by Timeform, it was certainly soft, and it certainly looks the case tomorrow as they have already had 27mm of rain today, and due some more before race time. Which will hopefully stop a few of the other horses.
Now running off a mark of 100 looks very fair, and I think he’s worth a go at a big price. Skybet are the only firm I am aware off who are paying 4 places on the race.
