The lightly-raced, unexposed, 3 year old filly Puffin Island really caught my eye last time being out-paced for most of the way before running on late on over 6f at at Kempton to finish 3.25 lengths 5th of 12 twelve days ago. She looks already like she is crying out for this step up to a mile and her pedigree would suggest she could improve markedly for it with plenty of 1m-1m3f winning form in there including at Group 1 level.
She was dropped 1lb for that run which was her handicap debut, she is down in grade (0-65 to a 0-55), and Grace McEntee takes a useful further 5lb off her back. She was also coming back from an 87 day break so should strip fitter for the run.
She looks well-worth an each way interest in this 11-runner race with further improvement highly likely. Good luck!
