Hi guys, these are four I fancy to go close which, if combined in an E/W Lucky 15, will hopefully show us a profit. As a bonus, they’re all on ITV4!

1.50 Ascot – PADDYS MOTORBIKE – 5/1

Paddys Motorbike has been highly progressive this season winning two of his last three races while giving the impression there may well be more to come. He gets in here near the bottom of the weights and I’m hopeful he can get us off to a winning start.

2.40 Haydock – SAM’S ADVENTURE – 4/1

Sam’s Adventure won easily by 4 lengths over C&D on today’s Heavy ground 5 weeks ago and has only gone up 6lb for that. He still looks well-handicapped, loves the mud, and shouldn’t be far away.

3.00 Ascot – DASHEL DRASHER – 7/1

This is a 14-runner handicap but I think the market has got it right with Good Boy Bobby and Dashel Drasher the two I fancy to fight out the finish. I’ve opted for Dashel Drasher because he looks a little more value at 7/1 than the 9/2 for Good Boy Bobby, he is 2-2 here, and he was impressive when winning over C&D 5 weeks ago. There should be more to come but I wouldn’t put anyone off having a small saver on the other one.

3.35 Ascot – FIRST FLOW – 16/1

First Flow has a bit to find at the weights with the likes of Poitilogue & Defi Du Seuil but he is a C&D winner with almost ideal conditions today so looks a little over-priced at 16/1 and wouldn’t be a surprise winner with question marks over the well-being of Defi after pulling up last time. Also, Politilogue is missing Harry Skelton and, while top class on his day, is not the most consistent and looks little value at 6/4 in such a competitive race. I disagree with Matt Chapman (@MCYeeehaaa) who said on the ITV Racing morning show on ITV4 the ground won’t suit First Flow. I know he ideally wants Heavy ground but it was Soft with a Going Stick reading of 5.9 when he won over C&D on his seasonal debut back in November and the Going Stick reading this morning was 4.7 which is very close to Heavy. Ascot Racecourse (@Ascot) described the Going as “Soft, Heavy in places” on Twitter this morning.

I like the each way chances of all 4. I’m hopeful there are winners amongst these but they’re all in big Saturday afternoon races which are always so very competitive. Hopefully they’ll all give us a run for our money and we’ll end the day in profit. Good luck!
