ANFANDEM – 1.40pm HAMILTON

0.5 POINT WIN BET ADVISED AT THE 10/1 AVAILABLE WITH THE FOLLOWING FIRMS…

Hi guys, I think the 7 year old Anfandem looks worth an interest in this as he is encountering the easy underfoot conditions he wants for the first time in a while.

Anfandem is a Tim Easterby trained 7 year old who has been badly out of form in his last 4 runs but as a consequence he has quickly dropped 9lb down the weights in the past 7 weeks to 11lb below his last winning mark. Besides this, those last 4 runs were all run on Good or Good to Firm ground and tomorrow he looks likely to get the Soft or easier Going that he wants.

He is a different horse with easy underfoot conditions and has form as recent as July 9th which gives him a form chance here as he finished 0.75 lengths 3rd of 8 over 5.5f off 9lb higher on Good to Soft at Chester. His last win came on Good to Soft in this month two years ago and he has gone close off much higher marks (as much as 13lb higher) on easy ground on several occasions since. He has also won on Heavy before when his trainer is quoted as saying, “he absolutely loved the soft ground and it transformed him”.

David Allan is a good booking and the selection handles undulating tracks and has gone well at Hamilton in the past (finished 3rd off 16lb higher than in this).

My only reservation is his recent poor form. I don’t like tipping or betting out of form sprinters which is why I am only recommending 0.5 points win and not more but I’m hopeful the significant drop in the weights and the Going (it is currently officially Good to Soft with rain forecast in the area from now right through until race time) will make all the difference. Good luck!
