ROSEABAD – 4.45pm NEWMARKET

0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT THE 14/1 AVAILABLE WITH WILLIAM HILL

Hi guys, there hasn’t been much in the way of tips from me mainly because I have been seriously ill laid up in bed but also because these early Flat season races are a bit of a lottery with none or little recent turf form to go on. With that said, I have spotted Roseabad who I think looks worth an each way interest in this 8-runner affair. Let’s hope we have no non-runners.

This Mark Johnston trained 3 year old filly, who cost 45,000gns as a yearling, won on Good to Firm ground on her debut last year and this is this fastest ground she will have encountered since (officially Good as I write this with drying conditions at the track forecast). She is bred to do better this year over middle-distance trips so I think she will be well-suited by this step up to 1m2f despite appearing not to stay it on her second start last year. On that occasion, she finished 12 lengths 5th of 8 in a Group 3 race here but it was on Soft ground against better horses than she meets dropped in to this Class 3 handicap off a workable looking mark of 90.

Her yard is in form (Last 14 days: 14-57, 25%), she has shown she has can go well fresh, and if ready to fire on her first start back from a 6-month break running against a few rivals who have the benefit of a run I could see her going close. Good luck!

P.S. Just a reminder that while I suggest bookies to bet with because they have the best price available or are offering to pay extra places in a race these are purely for your benefit and I receive absolutely nothing from them. I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY BOOKMAKERS!

If you like my write-ups and they’ve helped you then please…
