HOUX GRIS – 2.20pm AINTREE

0.5 PTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT A GENERALLY AVAILABLE 9/1

I’m chancing the potential of the 4 year old French import Houx Gris, who was bought for €200,000 just last November, in this against his older counterparts. He is receiving 6lb from all his rivals and the Paul Nicholls yard in hot form (Last 14 days: 17-41, 41%).

The selection ran a little too keenly in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham but still managed to finish a very good running on 3.75 lengths 4th of 22 to 80/1 winner Jeff Kidder who showed it was no fluke by following up with an easy 3 length win in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse in Ireland just 4 days ago. I have little doubt there will be more to come from Houx Gris on his third start of the season. His trainer thinks the flat track at Aintree will suit him and if he settles a bit better early he could have more left in the tank for his finishing effort. He looks the best each way option in this 10-runner affair. Good luck!
