The Tom George trained 8 year old gelding FONTLEY HOUSE looks worth chancing at the current 11/1 on offer with a pipe-opener under his belt in a better higher Class race than this at Hereford 7 weeks ago. On that occasion, he didn’t run badly to finish 32 lengths back in 3rd as he was coming off a 284 day break and the Good to Firm going may have been better than he wants.
He won in this Class on today’s Good to Soft ground around this time last year over this trip at Kempton off a 1lb lower mark and prior to that ran well here to finish 2nd of 12 around this trip off 4lb lower than today.
This is a tight looking handicap with only 8lb separating the 12-runners but he looks the one to be on at the prices back at Southwell under these conditions with possibly more to come from him this year.
Bet Victor are also offering 11/1 as I write this but are only paying the first 3 horses home. Good luck!
