IN SWOOP (NAP) – 3.05pm LONGCHAMP

1 PT EACH WAY ADVISED AT 8/1 WITH ALL THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS PAYING 4 PLACES

Hi guys, I spent a couple of hours on the race so please don’t be concerned that I didn’t spend as long on the write-up.

I’m very much with the fast improving 3 year old colt In Swoop in this as I think he looks the one that will be best suited by today’s conditions. Not only do I think they’ll suit him but I can see Heavy ground over 1m4f bring about a fair bit of improvement.

He easily won what I thought was a strong looking renewal of the Group 1 German Derby back in July with the second placed horse franking the form by winning a Group 1 himself next time out. The selection then finished a running on 2.5 lengths 2nd of 10 in the Group 1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris over C&D 3 weeks ago. That was a trial for this and he finished behind Aidan O’Brien’s Mogul off level weights. He would have finished much closer only for his jockey making a tactical error letting Mogul get first run on him up the rail while he took In Swoop wide round the home bend.

On pedigree, and what he has shown so far, today’s 1m4f really is his minimum trip, he is well drawn low in stall 1, on only his fifth start ever there’s further improvement to come, he’s receiving a weight for age allowance, & he will be fully fit on his fifth start since May. He has won on Soft, so his stamina looks much more assured than all of his rivals barring Stradivarius of course who doesn’t want Heavy, wants much further than 1m4f, and doesn’t have In Swoop’s speed. He is guaranteed to be running on late so let’s hope he gets the gaps.

I’m an Enable fan like the rest of you guys but I just don’t see it happening though she could easily prove me wrong. Each way advised at 8/1 (9/1 on Betfair Exchange as I write this) with many firms paying 4 places. Good luck!
