MAGIC DANCER – 2.37pm HEREFORD
0.5 POINTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 14/1 WITH BET365 FOR 3 PLACES
Hi guys, I think this 12 year old looks worth an each way interest for 3-4 places (I’ll let you decide) in this 9-runner 2.37 race at Hereford. He is available at 14/1 with BET365 for 3 places and 12/1 generally.
The horse is Magic Dancer and he has dropped 10lb down the weights since December 2022 to 7lb below his last winning mark. Besides this, the Kerry Lee yard are in form having had a winner and two 2nd place finishers from their last 5 runners over the past fortnight. They have also made a great start to the jumps season with 11 winners from 45 runners for a 24% strike rate.
The horse last won 14 months ago on similar Good ground to this after a 205-day break and he returns from a 74-day break today. The trainer says, “He’s in cracking form at home and we hope the drop in grade and better ground will see him in a better light.”
He is also usually contested at Class 2 and Class 3 level and drops in to a Class 4 race here for his first time on his fourteenth start over the larger obstacles.
I also like that the three at the head of the market are all at least slightly drifting in the betting markets on Betfair. This race could throw up a surprise result. Timeforatune (7.5/1) & Family Business (18/1) could go well. Let’s hope the winner is Magic Dancer.
