ALIUNDE – 2.15pm DOWNPATRICK
0.5 POINTS EACH WAY ADVISED AT 16/1 WITH THESE FIRMS PAYING 4 PLACES
Hi guys, I like the 16/1 that Aliunde has opened up at with Paddy Power & William Hill in the 2.15 at Downpatrick tomorrow. They and some other bookmakers are paying 4 places on this 13-runner race.
The 6 year old lightly-raced gelding is a former 3-mile point to pointer who steps up 5 furlongs in trip from 16.5f to 21.5f which should suit. He also finished a very good 7th of 22 when last seen at Punchestown where he was left far too much to do but can be seen running-on late over the unsuitably short trip.
The official Soft Going suits and I particularly like that experienced apprentice, Aidan Kelly (2-17, 12%) takes over from an inexperienced one and also takes a useful 7lb off his back.
The selection has a bit to find on ratings with those at the head of the market but I suspect he will take a step forward stepping up in trip and he will be fitter on his third start of the season.
Good luck if you decide to have a bet!
