PERCY PROSECCO – 3.45pm WINDSOR

1 POINT WIN BET ADVISED AT A GENERALLY AVAILABLE 16/1

We saw this 6 year old gelding go close twice off marks of 67 & 68 last Sep/Oct, the only two times where the blinkers were applied. He probably should have won at least one of those races, but he was in front far too early. He hasn’t really looked like winning since they took the blinkers off, but it’s seen his mark drop 10lb to 57, and he ran well for a long way last week to suggest he’s in some sort of form.

The blinkers are back on again, and he won his sole start over this CD too. The horse has a fantastic record in testing conditions, and there’s a fair chance with the rain forecast that we will see soft, possibly heavy ground, which will inconvenience most of the field. The jock knows the horse well, which could count for something in this amateur only race.

The selection ticks a lot of boxes, so you could go a bit EW so if he places it will cover the win stake, but I’m sure there will be a few nonners (We could see less than 8 runners), so I’d rather set a low lay in running instead.
