G’DAY AUSSIE – 3.55pm BANGOR
0.25 POINTS EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT 11/1 WITH THESE FIRMS PAYING 5 PLACES ON THE RACE
They are due some rain early in the morning, and I think good to soft will hamper most of the protagonists.
White Turf is the standard setter, although frustrating with how he’s been running on at the death. He has a first time visor, which should see him travel kinder so that he’s not so far back. He could have finished closer LTO, but the winner had already flown, and won again with a 7lb penalty, so he’s got an obvious chance here off the same mark. Scholfield takes over, and is a staggering 4 from 6 for the yard this season.
G’Day Aussie was unlucky not to win on his last CD run (on soft) here off 99, but for getting boxed in. We hadn’t seen him for 471 days, but he ran a cracking third on his comeback run at Southwell early last month. The 4th & 7th both won NTO, and given he didn’t have his customary pieces on, which saw him wander around, and he was sent off at 40/1, so you like to think he will have needed that run too.
If he replicated that run then he would have to be in the places, but I would still only do enough EW (the rest win) so if he was to place then it would cover the win stake.
