Not sure what they are feeding the horses at this yard, but they’ve already hit 15 winners since April, 6 more than they managed for the whole of last season (24% vs 7%), and these horses have been bolting up too.

The majority of these winners needed their first run, and Keighley stated as much on the selections first run, where she ran on to finish 7th. We saw the benefit of this run on her next and latest start finishing a 9l 5th. This doesn’t tell the whole story though, as she got crushed up at the end of the back straight, losing several lengths and a lot of momentum.

I’m not sure if she’s slow, or just a bit lazy, because she seems to need a lot of encouragement. I think Bowen taking over on Cut And Run is a great jockey change, and the pieces can only help.

I think Espressino deserves to be favourite, he’s effectively 6lb well in, but I think Cut And Run holds a good chance of turning the 5l deficit around, being 3lb better off, and if Bowen/pieces see her travel kinder in to the race, she really should be going close.

Akkapenko has bits and pieces of form that would see him go very close if the switch of yard works. Vaughan has really struggled the past year, but Burchell has been doing OK, and was unlucky not to win with a first timer from the Fergal O’Brien yard, which is quite feat as they a real up and coming yard.
