Hi guys, Irish Raider and Johnny Murtagh trained 4 year old gelding Sonnyboyliston looks worth an interest at generous 10/1 odds in this 11-runner Group 3 race.
He has been progressive this year after being a bit babyish as a 3 year old and he comfortably won a Listed race over 1m4.5f at Limerick last time. Prior to that, he was 3rd of 8 to two very nice sorts in Japan & Trueshan in a similar Group 3 race to this and he might now be ready to progress to win one of these. He is completely unexposed at this 1m6f trip and it should suit as his Dam won over both 1m7f & 2 miles on the Flat. The hope is it will unlock further improvement.
He is pretty versatile ground wise and certainly won’t mind the forecast rain in the area. The Johnny Murtagh yard are in fine form (Last 14 days: 4-25, 16%) and I can see the selection going close with further progress anticipated now fully-fit on his fourth start of the campaign.
