DANDY’S MAX – 6.15pm PONTEFRACT
0.5 PT EACH WAY BET ADVISED AT THE 25/1 AVAILABLE WITH SKYBET WHO ARE PAYING 4 PLACES
Hi guys, I think the 3 year old gelding Dandy’s Max looks worth chancing at the current 25/1 available particularly with SKYBET paying 4 places on this 12-runner race.
He cost €18,000 in October 2019 and showed decent form early in his career running to RPR’s of 69 twice when with Ben Haslam but he has did little in three starts since moving to Stella Barclay. However, he might not be one to give up on just yet as he ran well for a long way last time over an unsuitably long 7f and was still just about leading at the furlong pole with the 7/4 second Favourite having to fight hard to get past him. He faded badly after that and eventually finished 7.25 lengths last of the 7 runners. He has been dropped 6lb for that most recent run and has quickly dropped in three runs this year from an official mark of 72 to running off a mark of just 58 today. He has also ran well here having finished a neck running-on 2nd of 12 over 5f on his debut around this time last year. He won’t lack for fitness on his fourth start of the season, he will be suited by today’s drop back to 6f, the application of first-time cheek-pieces could spark some improvement, he has shown he handles the track, and he is in receipt of 22lb & 23lb from two of his main rivals at the head of the market so at the weights he won’t need to improve much to be involved in the finish.
I would like him to employ similar tactics to last time popping out in the lead and trying to hold on. If he does he could go well and at the price you don’t have to stake a lot to find out if he can yet improve. Good luck!

P.S. Just a reminder that while I suggest bookies to bet with because they have the best price available or are offering to pay extra places in a race these are purely for your benefit and I receive absolutely nothing from them. I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY BOOKMAKERS!
