The 4 year old filly Zulu Girl was a half-length 2nd of 10 in a similar race to this over C&D on today’s Good to Firm Going on her seasonal/stable debut 5 weeks ago when coming back from a 227-day break. She is only 1lb higher in the weights here but fitter on her third start of the season and she pulled nearly 3 lengths clear of the third so there is cause for optimism she could go close with a repeat of that performance. Also, the in form Nicola Currie (Last 14 days: 4-18, 22%), who was on her on that occasion, is booked for only the second time on her today.
She has to give 3lb to the Favourite, Dawn View, today but the time she ran her C&D 2nd in (Approx 1m 35.00s) carrying 9st 8lb compares well to the race Dawn View won over C&D 7 weeks ago in 1m 34.34s carrying just 8st 10lb. Both races were ran on very similar ground (Going stick readings of 8.3 vs 8.4) and Dawn view is carrying 9st 7lb today. The 11lb more she is carrying today compared to the mere 2lb more the selection is carrying suggests the selection could have the beating of the Favourite. In any case, she looks well-worth an each way bet at the price in this 9-runner race. Good luck!
