Manigordo, who was picked up for 25,000gns last October after having sold for 60,000 Euros as a yearling, is risky because it is hard to know what to expect from the 4 year old gelding having been out of form when last seen on the track 171 days ago. However, he won coming back from a similar break first time out last year and the drop back to 7f and the drying conditions at the course will suit. He may also have been helped by a gelding operation back in November (so he has had plenty of time to recover) and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t prove to be better than his current mark of 84 having dropped a stone down the weights since last June. I think he is only worth small each way stakes at the price because his fitness has to be taken on trust and it is a competitive looking 11-runner handicap. Good luck!
