OUT THE GLEN – 3.25pm FFOS LAS

2 PT WIN BET ADVISED AT A GENERALLY AVAILABLE 5/2

Debra Hamer’s 7 year old gelding Out The Glen provides no value at 5/2 (as he is available at just over 3/1 on Betfair Exchange as I write this) and is on the drift but I’ve Napped him because I can’t see him being beaten in this barring mishaps.

He was highly progressive last year winning his first two handicaps before finishing a very good 9 lengths 4th of 17 at Huntingdon back in March this year when coming back from a slightly longer than ideal 76 day break. The 5th placed horse The Late Legend who he gave 21lb to and a 3.25 length beating has form figures of 22114 since and is now rated 19lb higher.

Course winner Out The Glen since made his seasonal debut coming back from a 231 day break in a Class 5 race over C&D 3 weeks ago and I thought he put in an excellent performance to only relent late on finishing 5 lengths 2nd of 17 to very well-handicapped, highly progressive, race-fit, Favourite Memphis Belle who he was giving 9lb to and who comfortably won by 4 lengths off a 7lb higher mark in a higher Class race since and is now rated 16lb higher than when beating my selection who has only gone up 3lb.

He is up in Class today but likes it here, is entitled to strip fitter for the run, with plenty of improvement likely as his best years are still ahead of him, the trip and ground ideal, and in receipt of 24lb & 25lb from two of his main rivals (Summer Name & Shantou Vow), he looks the one to be on and should take all the beating. There has been money for Kestrel Valley but the selection beat him by 9.25 lengths here last December and is 5lb better off at the weights today. I also thought Trixster could go well at 18/1. Good luck!
