SPECTRUM OF LIGHT (NAP) – 3.55pm NEWMARKET
2 PT WIN BET ADVISED AT A GENERALLY AVAILABLE 7/4 WITH THE FOLLOWING BOOKMAKERS…
Hi guys, I’m really putting myself out there with this one by Napping Spectrum Of Light with Timeform calling the race “competitive”, the Racing Post Spotlight column and the Sporting Life both siding with Margaret Dumont, and with Grand Bazaar (now Favourite) coming in for strong support having been tipped by a number of the top newspaper columns. However, after studying/dissecting all the runners’ form and watching numerous race replays I’ve concluded Spectrum Of Light should win comfortably barring mishaps as he seems to have plenty going for him while his main rivals don’t appear to have beaten much.
The selection has progressed in all his 4-runs to date, has been keeping far superior company than his rivals, with the form of his last two runs in particular suggesting he is better than a Class 4 handicapper and well ahead of his current mark of 84. He beat Sarvan, who subsequently easily beat an odds-on Favourite of Sir Michael Stoute’s and is now officially rated 92, here by a short-head off level weights on the Rowley course five weeks ago. Tenbury Wells who was 1.75 lengths back in 4th (again off level weights) also won next time and is now rated 82. Spectrum Of Light then put in an excellent performance running in unsuitable conditions over this C&D two weeks ago to only go down by a head to one with a high knee action who was ideally suited by the Soft ground on the day. The Favourite, who finished a length back in 3rd, won going away in a Class 3 handicap 13 days later off a 1lb higher mark. That last run suggested he will easily get this 1m4f on much better ground today (officially Good to Firm), the application of first-time cheek-pieces will help keep him straight and could spark further improvement, he is down in Class, and the Charlie Appleby/William Buick combination are in top form. With more to come under better conditions today he is my Nap and a 2 PT win bet is advised at a generally available 7/4 (2/1 on Betfair Exchange). Good luck!
