Hi guys, a new addition to the site is this Eyecatchers Section which is a bit like you having access to my tracker. I feel I get undeserved praise heaped upon me for sharing much more than most other tipsters as we’re all here because we love horse racing while we have the shared goal of trying to “beat the bookies” which I’m happy to report we’ve been doing consistently year on year since 2012.

I think the word “community” is overused but that is what we have built up and become on Twitter where we talk about horse racing and I try to answer your questions. The great thing is, if I’m not about there’s usually another experienced punter or tipster who jumps in to help with a knowledgeable response. I love the interaction and banter I have with you guys on there and, while having a small bet makes watching any race more exciting with it being a bonus when we make a few quid, the pure elation and outpouring of joy on Twitter is palpable every time we hit a big-priced winner! You’ve also been very loyal to me over the years so, to reciprocate, I’m happy to try and help you guys as much as I can.

I introduced this section on March 4th 2021 with these two tracker entrants to see what the response from you guys would be and it has been very positive so I intend to populate this page with many more eyecatchers shortly after the Cheltenham Festival is over.

TRACK: SOUTHWELL
SURFACE: FIBRESAND
STARTING PRICE: 5/1
TRAINER: STUART WILLIAMS
HORSE: BEIJA FLOR

I don’t like to criticise jockeys because I appreciate they risk their lives on a daily basis for our entertainment. They also have a very difficult job having to make split second decisions while travelling at 30mph plus onboard an unpredictable large animal weighing anything between 700lb to 1200lb. So, I’m going to be diplomatic and say Marco Ghiani perhaps had his mind on other things when he rode Beija Flor in this.

The horse broke slowly from the widest draw in stall 8 before veering right and going even wider. She had made up ground on her rivals after they had gone a furlong or so but the jockey made no effort to either drop the horse in and get cover or to take the lead before they came to the first bend resulting in her being taken 6-wide around it. She then remained wide throughout and rounding the home bend before being taken even wider in the home straight. She started to make her effort for home just inside the 3 furlong pole and was on terms with 2 to go before dropping away tamely. This was hardly surprising as she had travelled around half of Southwell by that stage and, at any rate, much farther than her rivals. To conclude, Beija Flor is better than she was allowed to show here and could go better tonight in the 7.50 at Chelmsford back on Polytrack, under the same jockey, on just her second start for this yard, in re-fitted cheek-pieces, with the step up in trip to 1m2f a likely plus.

DATE & TIME HORSE RAN: 13th February 2021 at 1.25pm
RACE: Ladbrokes Watch Racing Online For Free Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Class 5) (3yo+)
DISTANCE: 6f (6f1yds)
TRACK: LINGFIELD
SURFACE: POLYTRACK
STARTING PRICE: 18/1
TRAINER: CLIVE COX
HORSE: JUST AMBER

I thought the 3 year old filly Just Amber, the second foal of a Listed-placed sprint winner, showed considerable promise on her debut after being slowly in to stride before being held up at the rear of the field and running green. However, I thought she was travelling as well as anything with about two and a half furlongs to go before being nudged along briefly rounding the home bend then coming back on the bridle. Up the home straight she was never asked for maximum effort by her jockey or put in to the race proper. In other words, she was given an “educational” ride and wasn’t knocked about. She is entered to run over the same trip at Wolverhampton on Monday the 8th of March and, provided she handles the Tapeta surface at the first attempt, she could put in a much improved effort.

If you like my work and what I’m trying to do here then please…
